Membership - Frequently Asked Questions
Question: Is O.S.R.A. membership mandatory?
Answer: No. Membership in the O.S.R.A. is voluntary. If you do not want to benefit from being part of a Provincial organization that looks out for the interests of soccer referees, then that is your choice.

Question: I have already paid X dollars to the O.S.A. Why is there another fee to join the O.S.R.A.?
Answer: The O.S.A. and the O.S.R.A. are independent organizations.

The O.S.A. is responsible for accreditation, classification, assessment, and discipline of referees as well as instructors and assessors. Your O.S.A. fee pays for these programs. As well, part of your O.S.A. fees go towards the overall operating budget of the O.S.A.

In many parts of the province the O.S.R.A. hosts almost all continuing education for registered referees. We also publish a quarterly magazine dedicated to refereeing in Ontario. All of your O.S.R.A. fee goes towards programs designed to benefit referees.
